How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
With your white-tipped tail, and the twitch of your nose
Racing the wind, you can run on for days.
Rescued from your past, you love to lick our toes.
A warrior in a spaniel’s coat, whole hearted, ardent pride
Letting all who pass know, loud and clear,
Do not dare to hide.
How I love thee pink-skinned one, oh you wait to hear.
And now in the quiet I seek your eyes
Which always sought mine first.
A flurry at my feet, I try?
Nothing, my heart bursts.
No sandy tongue to lick my cheek; Sorrow’s river flows.
Close my eyes and feel your breath; this is where I’ll go.
In memory of Willy, a good good dog. 2/16/15

Beautiful!
Sweet Willy, you will be missed but not forgotten. A lovely tribute to him.. Always hard to say goodbye. I hope you find some comfort just knowing he is no longer in pain. I know he is running happily with new friends but he will be watching over you, his family who gave him so much love and joy. Hugs to Rico.

Thank you Donna, yes it is hard to say goodbye – even when we know it’s coming. I appreciate your kind words and hugs.
