I Dance

Hello friends,

I’m back from a sabbatical of sorts. A sabbatical from regular blog posting and writing, that is.
I’m very good with structure, setting goals and completing tasks, which is perfect when you are writing regular blog posts or a book.

However, sometimes all that structure comes at the expense of creativity, spontaneity and the natural flow of things. Maybe that’s why I’ve been relishing my freeform dance practice lately.

It’s good to be back and I look forward to continue posting blogs, and connecting with you! And while the posts may not necessarily appear at predetermined intervals, I promise they will come when they are deep-belly called. Like this one. Enjoy.

I Dance…

I dance
To release the clutter stuck in my bones.
To sweat.
To be free.
I dance to be danced.

I dance to forget
The jumble in my mind and enter the clear water that is my body.
I dance to forget
The conditioning of the routine, conventional, and accepted.

I dance so I may find
My still space, my buddha, my silent sea.
I dance to meet
My wild child, rockin’ and flippin’ her hair.
I dance to laugh.

I dance to remember
The clear cold of the river, rolling over rainbow colored rocks that I am.
I dance to remember
The beat of hawk wings, catching the updraft that I am.
I dance to remember
The sacred sensual creative Being that birthed me, breathes me, lives me, is me.

When I dance,
I see angels.
When I dance,
I feel the beat of the Universe, the rhythm of her stars, the tempo of my heart.

And I dance for the all of it.
